Heart of the Matter
4 stars Fabulous single extracted from Steve's second solo album, "Please Don't Touch", which was released immediately after his departure from Genesis' guitarist chair. Both sides are prime material to prog ears consumption:

On the A face, he teamed nothing less than with legendary american folk-singer Richie Havens (of Woodstock reputation), who provided his raspy, Gabriel-like tinged voice to "How Can I?", one of those rare perfect ballads where the word "perfect" isn't discharged in vain.

On the flip, a nice instrumental featuring the brothers interplay: Steve on acoustic guitar, and John Hackett on transverse flute crafting a tiny classical gem dedicated to Kim Poor (Steve's wife by then).

Masterful single by a master of prog
