4 stars "Bursting At The Seams" is one of the finest progressive folk albums. It manages to mix some very varied musical styles, but does so perfectly because of great songwriting, excellent musicianship and fabulous production. This still sounds as good now as it did then!

At this, the band's commercial peak they were combining folk with "Lady Fuschia", pub songs on "Part of the Union" as well as folk-rock with the very uplifting "Lay Down" and the soothing "The Winter And The Summer". Most of Bursting is sheer life enhancing magic - especially with the haunting epics "The River/Down by the Sea" and 'Tears and Pavane'. That is simply exquisite music and I'm surprised to find it is sometimes unjustly underrated! Four and a half stars for this one!
