5 stars o.k fisrt of all I am so happy that KRUZENSHTERN & PAROHOD are here in PA, even though they not so proggy, but they got a lot in their great music.

This first album is my fav from KRUZENSHTERN & PAROHOD- he is full with great Ideas: the combination of klezmer with hard, pumpy rock, and a lot of tempo changes is amazing, the humor- the music is full of it, and add a lot to it.

- Igor Krutogolov creativity in the bass and also in the weird funny singing of him in jibrish, Igor brings with him a rock touch to the band.

Ruslan Gross- he brings the klezmer parts to the band, the whole album is turn around Ruslan's playing, when what can I say his palying is brilliant.

this album is uniq and very intresting, I will give him 4.5

4 stars I'd personally put Kruzenshtern and Parohod towards the avant-prog side of the RIO/avant subgenre, since their music doesn't bear much relation to the RIO movement bands or those inspired by them. Instead, their sound is highly reminiscent of the dabbling in traditional Middle Eastern music by Mr Bungle and Secret Chiefs 3, with the same blending in of rock influences with older folk traditions. With some absolutely loopy clarinet playing from Roslan Gross providing the secret ingredient that makes the band's sound so compelling, the group take you on an incredible musical journey which is certainly out of the ordinary. Highly recommended to fans of avant-garde fusions of rock music and traditional music.
