2 stars PIKE 107 - WEIRD GLOWS GLEAM is the 6th album by BUCKETHEAD in 2015. Yet another digital only instrumental jam album. This one contains three tracks. One track named after each of the words in the title although all the tracks run together and it's virtually impossible to distinguish them. Unlike many other albums in the PIKE series, this one is much harder and actually qualifies as heavy metal complete with metal riffing and BUCKETHEAD's signature virtuoso guitar playing.

WEIRD GLOWS GLEAM is basically a lengthy jam with heavy guitar, beefy bass and lots of faster-than-the-speed-of-light soloing. Decently done but nothing new under the sun. Randomly dispersed throughout, there is a little guitar variation with some strange effects but they don't last long enough. Another album i find excellently played but once again there is really no song structures of any sort and the whole thing just sounds drawn out and boring. OK for background music, lame for anything else.
