2 stars The second part of "Gold" set is much less prominent in terms of progressive music. As a matter of fact, this collection shows quite an opposite side of INDEXI - that of a pure pop band. Some songs from "Gold 2" cannot be even considered "rock" but rather easy listening pop, known under the term "schlager music". There are few interesting moments though: a symphonic ballad "Bacila je sve niz rijeku", an epic prog "Modra rijeka" from their eponymous studio album, then probably the only attempt of INDEXI to make a hard/heavy metal song "Prazne noci a beskrajni dani" with classic metal guitar riff and finally "Indexi 86", a song whose lyrics contains the titles of other old INDEXI songs and which was recorded on the occasion of release of "Sve ove godine" 4LP box set back in 1986. So a purist prog rocker, who wants to have INDEXI at their best, will be happy with "Gold 1" compilation coupling "Modra rijeka" studio album. Other more enthusiastic listeners can check this out too, but it is really for fans only.
