Progressive Biography

I am a rock and folk musician and book editor living in Toronto, Canada, although I was born in Leicester, UK. I have played in a 70s style glam band (Crash Kelly, a bit of a cult act in that genre), played solo psych folk under my own name and done stints in alternative and country bands. My primary musical interests are electric folk, ambient, psych, psych and acid folk, good symphonic (lots of mellotron!) and early music. I don't mind a bit of avant garde and zeuhl either. I freely admit thinking Phil Collins is talented and Genesis rocked up till 81 at least. I also like cats, am a vegetarian and have other hippie habits, although I do bathe.

You can find out more about my own musical exploits at www.myspace.com/allisterthompson or listen to my whole album at http://www.last.fm/music/Allister+Thompson/Infinities
