Progressive Biography

A biography, how prestigous I feel having one. I'll start off with the basics. I'm seventeen, so it's likely I'm one of the younger members of this site. Like many or should I say all of you I have an affinity for progressive music. Sinfully, I failed to realize the value of progressive metal when I bought Dream Theater's Scenes From a Memory. A few weeks later I bought Images and Words, and little did I realize it was becoming my most listened to album. I discovered my affinity for progressive music and I have only grown to love the genre more. Later on I discovered more progressive bands and more progressive genres. I will appreciate my future discoveries as much as those in my past. Scenes From a Memory is now one of my favorite albums. ;)

I tend to review a little differently from others. I believe that the one whole created by a band's musicians is important, and I make sure I address this in my reviews. I also think that the musicians that indiviually make up that whole is important as well. I do my best to give each musician the credit he deserves. Bands may have great musicians that play with good musicians. Great bands have great musicians playing with other great musicians.

My musical background has been active for my age. I have studied theory and understand many, but not all parts of musical infastructure. I play bass, guitar, trombone, and baritone with plausible skill. I have an understanding an experience with keyboards and tuba, but I wouldn't dare call myself a keyboardist or tuba player. I have a local technical metal band here in Denver which I play bass and compose for
