2 stars This is Into Eternity debut album and I must say I'm not that impressed at all and it's a bit frustrating in comparison with their next albums. The album lacks quality, originality yet even more elements to make at least a good album. I'm not saying this album sucks but to a certain degree it does. All the songs have very similar rhythms and melodies; it's like the same song repeating all over again and again. Tim Roth as a guitarist is very good and as a vocalist not bad but most of his vocal melodies are to identical and the death grunts are very low quality needless to say and they don't even sound like death grunts. The album has some good moments that can be found deep into the album but are extremely rarely heard. The album starts of with Torn which stars with some sort of symphony and a creepy guy screaming but it's not that good beyond that; besides that it's just a song. Songs like Holding onto Emptiness, Into Eternity and Speak of the Dead which has a very good keyboard solo at least do something different from the other songs and are good enough at least to keep the album worth listening to. The album doesn't have a bad combination of styles ranging from death metal, progressive metal even nu metal making sort of halve good use to them. The album it's not a bad way to start for Into Eternity but it isn't great or good enough to mention and after a couple of times listening to it, you won't even remember this album existed. You should only consider listening to this album if you're a die hard Into Eternity fan or if you really don't care the way albums are badly elaborated and that you are really into progressive music.
