3 stars Well I must mention the detail that this single was released with two purposes: The first one, most important of all, is that this is a tribute to the late Roger Keith "Syd" Barret, who sadly died earlier in 2006. The second is to promote the DVD that will be released later in 2007, It will feature the Two Arnold Layne performances that are included, played at London's Royal Albert Hall in May. David and his band, which features Mr. Richard Wright himself on the keyboards, performed "Arnold Layne" several times during David's 2006 "On An Island" tour. He also performed the never rehearsed "Dark Globe". This was played only twice in the tour, in Munich, Germany, and Clam, Austria. This track features the Clam performance of the song, a pure rendition to Mr. Barret by his old friend David Gilmour, who simply grabbed his acoustic with no advise and played this beautiful song. It is worth saying, all tracks in this single were written by Syd Barret, and it marks the 40th anniversary of the original release of the single by Pink Floyd, as well as their 40th anniversary as a band (as they consider that they started professionaly in 1967). Now to the details: The first track, wich is the one that has radio airplay, features David Bowie on vocals instead of Richard Wright, and was performed on May 29th. The second track was performed the next day, May 30th, with Richard Wright on vocals. The last track is just David and his guitar, performed in Clam on July 27th, actually this is the show next to the RAH ones, which ended on May 31st, with the Stellar appearance of guess who, Mr. Nick Mason, which means that Pink Floyd performed in the Royal Albert Hall in May 31st 2006. I really hope that this performance is included in the DVD, otherwise I will die!

Just to mention the rest of the band that performs in Arnold Layne racks, cuz they`re not mentioned above: Phil Manzanera / Guitars Guy Pratt / Bass Guitar Steve Di Stanislao / Drums Jon Carin / Keyboards, Slide Guitar

If you like the Floyd (I know most of you guys do), you should grab one of these, theyr'e a jewel in your collections. If not, you may want to wait until the DVD is released, but there's no other way to get Dark Globe, because it will NOT be on the DVD. Good luck everybody.
