4 stars This is a stunning album. Sun Caged display a unique ability on this album to convey a very varied amount of genres spanning form the obvious progressive metal to the unlikely 'salsa'. It is filled with both intricate instrumentals and pounding riffs. In my opinion the two 'stand out' tracks of the album are the slightly comical [you'll see when you listen to it] 'Englebert the inch worm' and 'Departing Words'. The vocals are quite strong and powerful and are often remenisscient of James LaBrie. The drum work is of note and can get quite complex and very developed inot the main texture of the sound, and the guitarist has written some intoxicating riffs and dream like solo's.Quite a wondeful effort from a relatively unknown band, and would make an excellent edition to any prog fans music collection, but especially for fans of 'Dream Theater', 'Russian Circles' and even 'King Crimson'.
