On the Relayer album, Soon forms part of the epic The Gates Of Delirium. It was released as a single on its own together with an edited version of Sound Chaser from the same album as its b-side. The single version of Soon was later included in the box set Yesyears, but the edited version of Sound Chaser was not. Both tracks have since been made available as bonus tracks on the remastered CD reissue of Relayer.

The two songs complement each other very well as Soon is a beautiful, heartfelt ballad while Sound Chaser a wild, frenzied instrumental. Both songs work very well in this format and the single runs like a condensed mini-version of Relayer. Almost needless to add, however, is that if you have the full-length album then this single is fairly redundant, especially if you have the CD reissue.

The single exist in several different versions some of which have alternative art work. Some have a big yellow Yes-logo on blue background and the song titles written underneath, others have the back cover of Relayer as its front cover as can be seen here.
