MR. GONE

Avoid this one at any price. The music is simplistic and irritating. Many of the melodies are cheesy instrumental pop. If we were to compare Joseph Zawinul with Rick Wakeman, we might say this album represented his RHAPSODIES moment. Weather Report must have been at a dead end at this time. Apparently, "Mr Gone" was Wayne Shorter's nickname in high school, but on this album he really seems gone: he doesn't do anything of interest. Sad, terribly sad!
