5 stars Probably the best progressive album ever produced by a group that no one talks about. In Hearing of Atomic Rooster belts out a broad range of great songs from the fast paced 'Breakthrough' the slower and more somber 'Decision/Indecision' to the raucous instrumental 'A Spoonful of Bromide Helps the Pulse Rate Go Down', and all on the first side. While the albums B-side is unfortunately deficient of the energy the first side has, it's salvaged with a #4 UK single, 'Devil's Answer' that was missing on the original UK release. While Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer were heralded as the biggest acts of the genre, they had also received main-stream success in the US with several singles, while Atomic Rooster's best songs were largely ignored. Perhaps the biggest reason for this records misplacement into obscurity, however, was the bands' dissolving for a second time in as many years prior to any touring that usually goes hand in hand with promoting the album.
