4 stars ANOTHER PERSONAL FAVORITE FOR PERSONAL REASONS!

I have been a fan of ELO since the release of Eldorado with an album cover which I found very much to my taste at the time and still do. I wonder if it was strictly an artistic gamble using that image which was and is undoubtedly strongly affiliated with the movie The Wizard Of Oz from which it was taken or was there legal ramifications? Anyway, I liked it's use, and since then and also having seen them on I believe it was The Midnight Special performing their On The Third Days version of Edvard Grieg's In The Hall Of The Mountain King became a fan. I was lucky enough to have seen them as they passed through town back in the day also. Personally this album has a fond spot in my heart since another good friend of mine from the time period of early high school and I used to enjoy this album specifically along with Queen I and Steve Miller Bands Book Of Dreams (not a proggy album) at his folk's place. We also used to listen to MO's Tubular Bells and during the chanting part on side two, imagined it being performed by prehistoric people around a fire on the shore of Lake Michigan which was across the road and a small field from my friend's folk's house. Although this album holds a definite emotional bias for me, I still believe that it is a very good album! Not having that bias, I would probably round it's rating down from 3.5 stars to 3, but with that bias I do not find it difficult to round the rating up to a 4 position. Also their albums, Electric Light Orchestra (aka: No Answer), Eldorado and A New World Record are also favorites of mine that would each hover between 3.5 and 4 star ratings. I would recommend these albums to anyone interested in trying some of ELO's music.

Take care and enjoy God's gift of music!
