5 stars I may provoke reactions of hatred against me? I do not want to raise extreme reactions or be taken for one who wants to become a passably compilation... A masterpiece. However this compilation I was blown up in the chair! Ok, this is only a search for an excuse to make you interested in what I am to write, I scribe came from ancient Egypt!

Proto Prog in Italy? Well it is simply called Beat. But bands like I Corvi, I Quelli, I GiGanti or Dik Dik are simply Beat band? Probably yes, probably no. This is my first sentence. But it is true that at the first listen a band like Dik Dik is a Beat band. No, Dik Dik is more than a Beat band. because Dik Dik surpassed the limits of Beat. Like for I GiGanti are the weight of arrengements to make a difference. Since excellent musicians Dik Dik (already in the first line-up) have tried to write the arrangements, trying to express their ideas, not being able to write great songs. True, they have also written good songs. Only it is true that initially their songs can be described as destroyed by their arrangements of songs including those of Mogol and Battisti? I will not be surprised if it were true!). From 1973 Dik Dik change the line-up with 'Cucciolo' (former Osage Tribe) and Hunka Munka. In this phase their music change the little so that it can finally be described as Soft Prog. Minimum differences occur. Is Hunka Munka that puts keyboards (moog) in the first line, even though many times only for doubling the guitars. 'Viaggio Di Un Poeta' is not Prog, with that Moog? The arrival of Joe Vescovi (for Hunka Munka) does not change nothing.

In general with this analysis, what can I say about this compiltion? Well, That what I wrote above confirms what I said. But in the end, this music center with RPI? In my opinion, yes. By analyzing song for song we would have much to say in favor of my thesis. In truth Dik Dik plays a sort of Neo Melodic italian POP with tons of complicated arrengements and Prog flavours. Is this a form of Soft Prog? In this case yes. And if you love RPI... This is another compilation for you.
