2 stars A good compilation album, but certainly not the best Mike Oldfield has to offer. This is more a case of his successful pop songs and shorter radio friendly hits. Though some of the songs on this album are great, the overall problem is that there is so much more to Mike Oldfield's music than what can be summed up on one disc.

That said, the first half of the album is pretty good, with all the right songs to rename this 'Mike Oldfield's Pop Hits'. Though songs like 'Family Man' and 'Five Miles Out' are great and deserve a place on any Oldfield compilation album, tracks ten on onwards is where it loses momentum for me. Though they are all reasonably good tracks, they generally don't have the same energy or appeal to me that the first half of the record does.

Overall this is only for diehard Oldfield fans looking to complete their collection, or for casual listeners who are more drawn towards songs like 'Moonlight Shadow'. It's a good list of tracks, but definitely not the most detailed.
