5 stars In a time when few bands were writing prog rock, the Swedish band Anglagard was producing what sounds like a 1970's prog classic. The band definitely took a lot of inspiration from 70s prog like king crimson, yes, genesis, elp, etc, but they managed to create an excellent new prog album with their own unique style. In my opinion, this is the best prog rock album made after 1990. If you are a fan of all the classic 70s bands, I can almost assure that you will enjoy this album and you should definitely give it a try. It is a beautiful and complex album, with everything you want in a great symphonic prog album. The vocals are not in english, but if that is not a problem for you then you wont have any problem with the vocals. The band's second album, epilog, is not bad but definitely not up to the same standard so definitely get this one first. Hybris is another album that I discovered through this site and I am really glad I decided to get it. For me, this is a masterpiece of prog and I strongly recommend it to any fan of 70s symphonic prog.
