3 stars This is the definition of neo-neo prog (to me). It draws strongly from the textures of 60-80-s prog. Also, strongly towards a warm, easy listenable sound. Recording seemed bit muffled, making me think it was home-recorded but I could be wrong. Tunes are mostly instrumental and arranged well in a 70's way. On the simple side of ideas however, and vocal sections, while couched well sound-wise, fx, etc. were non-distinctive melodically. Also at times a penchant for melodramatic-self-pity-pathos- if you know what I mean...But it is very listenable and works great as a sort of Progzak when you want the more considered textures and effects of this kind of mellow dreamy prog. Solid 3 stars for listen-ability but lacking in creativity in terms of songwriting and structural composition. I'd say harmonic rhythm is often predictable and stuck where it could be camouflaged and worked up more creatively. But by all means I hope to hear more. Just pull away from the 70's sounds and keep stretching creatively! There is a sensitive gentleness that is appealing if it can become more creative and less predictable.
