2 stars Headless Cross is a single release by British heavy rock/ metal act Black Sabbath which was released in connection with the release of their fourteenth full-length studio album Headless Cross (1989). The single contains two songs. The first is the song Headless Cross in a 5:00 minute long edited version. The original version is 6:15 minutes long. Edited versions of songs are seldom a success IMO and itīs no exception here. Why not just chose a shorter song from the album for a single release? The second song is the bonus track from some CD versions of the Headless Cross album. This song is only interesting if you donīt have one of those CD versions. If you already got a CD version with the bonus track this single release is pretty useless. The songs are still good of course but the idea to release this single is not and I can only give a 2 star rating. For collectors only.
