4 stars AP shows a tremendous versatility and progress on this album which is ambitious and progressive at the same time. Tons of synths at all layers: sequencer chords, leads and accompanying notes, all done as if he were no newbie in this field. Although playing is not virtuosic, it is confident and well structured.

Drumbos suits quite well to give more dynamics to the music.

I think that all this music is difficult to perform live with all the textures and multiple sounds at the same time.

The most accessible and catchy is the first symphonic composition - "Prelude '84" which also features good electric guitar Phillips stays away from singing, thankfully.

The music bears no melancholy, it is more joyful but rather neutral.

Numerous bonus tracks are interesting and of various taste, go for the re-edition!

4 stars for the execution and unconventional style - this is a one of a kind work in AP's discography!
