This is a compilation album featuring non-album a-sides and b-sides of singles released during the Fish-era of the band. The collection opens with the 17 plus minute Grendel which is a Genesis' Supper's Ready-clone if there ever was one. Marillion were often accused of blatantly copying Genesis, but while that was an unfair accusation most of the time, here, however, it is a very fitting accusation indeed. Fans of the band will certainly want to hear this one, but the general Prog fans can safely pass on by. There is, after all, a good reason why this track was not included on the band's debut album.

The same, I would say, goes for the other tracks featured here. My personal favourite is Market Square Heroes, but this song is available on live recordings that are more worthy than this compilation.

Only for fans and collectors this one, as most compilations of its kind
