3 stars It looks like I get to be the first to review this album.

Anyway, unfortunately it seems that there is not a lot of information about this album(or band for that matter) online. I couldn't even find it listed on discogs and only two people have rated it on the gnosis website. Also, while I was very well aware of the prog underground when this first came out(1991) I have no recollection of hearing about it back then.

On to the music. This is very pleasant folk rock by a band from Italy with mild prog touches here and there but enough to give it a distinct sound that would separate it from most folk rock of the time period. Also, It's probably not going to make anyone overly excited but I don't regret buying it since I like to have a lot of different kinds of music in my collection. I'm not quite sure how it wound up being marketed as progressive rock but it was released by mellow records which is an Italian label that typically specializes in prog so maybe it just happened to catch their ear regardless of the actual genre it might fit comfortably in.

I won't go song by song here but I will say that some have a typical folky alternative sound( I was reminded in some parts of 10,000 maniacs and maybe similar bands), some have a more celtic vibe with tin whistles and some have a harder edge. There's even one track with nice piano with light orchestration which closes the album("between the parts").

While this is far from essential it is recommended to those who enjoy a more folky and folk rock sound(some tracks are more folky and some more rockish but it's never what I would call hard rock even though there is a little bit of biting guitar on at least one track). The female vocals are quite good too which is a nice suprise. Three stars.
