Beautiful Scarlet
3 stars Sixnorth should be filed under Canterbury Scene, not Jazz/fusion. Like Ain SOph these guys wear their influences on their sleeve with songs called "introduction to richard" (as in RIchard SInclair) and "the enneagram" (Enneagram from Civil Surface by Egg)

The music on here is played well and quite nice. It isn't particularly original but it is good and a style of music I like. What stands out to me from this album is the lovely singing and on point fretless bass work.

Magnetic Factor

Not to memorable but it is good when I listen to Prayer.

The Fourth Way

Cool guitar effect with a very present bass and eventually crazy horns, lovely track

Everything Becomes Circle

Nice sung opening in English with an accent, don't really know what their saying. There is beautiful violin after and some scatting then back to the singing.

The Enneagram

guitar->japanese singing->guitar ->sax+wonderful bass->moderately chaotic ending. I love this song, the prior three are good but not amazing.

From Sri Lanka to Titan

The electricity goes out for this one, very jazzy start with weird but superb vocals. Following a fast section the electricity comes back on for some strange keyboard lead lines. Then some excellent fast changes then the song is unfortunately done :(.

The Age of Horus

Love this song, very cool composition. The saxophone and bass interplay is divine and the singing is the cherry on top.

Introduction to Richard

Super chill soundscape that transitions into Richard, with the line between being hard to tell

Richard (including an extract from "Fitter Stoke Has A Bath")

Lovely culmination of a variety of moods from the album and a good ending to a good album.

If you like Canterbury Scene this is a must try for sure.
