1 stars This is probably the most overrated album in the history of music. There is nothing here that can make me interested in anything. This is poorly played death metal. Bad melodies, incoherent and similar structures of songs. The usual song for opeth is done like this: 1) A passage or a bunch of chords is taken, 2) This bunch of chords is repeated 4 or 8 times, 3) A second passage or a bunch of chords is taken and also repeated 4 or 8 times. 4) And so it turns into a composition... Again, I repeat, they do not shine with intelligence and you will not hear interesting harmonic solutions from them. The most interesting thing is that young progressive fans may be misled that Still life is progressive, which is not the case at all. This is boring and monotonous music that is not suitable even for the background.
