3 stars Serge Bringolf is clearly a fantastic drummer, and having a fantastic drummer is pretty much a requisite for early Zeuhl. His debut album is a fast paced jazz fusion effort with only hints of Magma-like Zeuhl. Built around drums, and interplay with rollicking basslines and horn sections its certainly a lively one! It would probably be filed under Jazz Fusion were it not for the occasional wordless operatic vocals. Sections such as the middle of the title track are simply just Bringolf jamming on his own with the drums, and are well worth listening too. The opening 5 minutes of Jodwenssen are perhaps the most 'Zeuhly' if that's what you're looking for.
