2 stars Savatage return after their debut album with another offering of 80's Heavy Metal, and whilst everything here is pretty much the same as on 'Sirens' in my opinion the tracks are not quite as good.

There are some classic 'Tage songs here, such as 'The Dungeons are Calling' and 'City Beneath the Surface', but overall all the songs, although good, sound like leftovers from Sirens, which is actually exactly what they are! The band wanted all these songs to appear on 'Sirens' but there was just too much material. So they released the leftovers on this EP instead.

As with their previous album, the production sounds very typical of a small 80's Metal band, and the demos that make up the bonus tracks don't sound too different from the main tracks themselves.

Overall, there are still a few classic tracks that belong in the collection of any Savatage fan, and since 'Sirens' and 'Dungeons' are now available on one disc, as they were originally meant to be, it really shouldn't be a problem getting hold of this.
