3 stars After a run of poorly-received albums, Saga released 'Trust' in 2006, which showed that when backed into a corner, this band can still deliver the goods. The question evolving around '10,000 Days' is whether or not the group can maintain the fire they had managed to pick up on 'Trust', or if they'll slip back into old patterns.

Unfortunately, I feel the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

Although a good record, this is nowhere near as awesome as 'Trust', but still has some fire left in it to show that this band isn't quite ready to slip into old habits. The problem however, is that of the nine tracks on offer here, only five of the songs are worth listening to, and even then they're not exactly going to change my life in any way.

'Lifeline', 'Book of Lies', 'Sideways', and 'It Never Ends' are all pretty good tracks similar to other Saga material, and the instrumental 'Corkentellis' demonstrates that though these guys don't exactly have huge reputations or anything, they're certainly no slouches when it comes to their respective instruments. The remaining four tracks are sadly pretty dull and uninspired and really don't work for me, which is why the three star rating.

Full of unique guitar/keyboard tunes and with more than a handful of catchy choruses, this is a good album from a seemingly still-revitalized band, but to be honest, I wouldn't recommend spending too much on it unless you're a diehard Saga fan, and chances are not many of those exist.
