4 stars While not as consistant as his opus Joe's Garage this album will still always have a place in my heart, known as one of the albums to feature the legendary Steve Vai i found it funny that there are some songs on this that Frank doesnt even appear in and who cudda guessed that Dweezil Zappa could play that good even then? shocker! On the surface this is a very fun and playful Frank Zappa album (too bad it was one of his last 'progressive' albums) he improves a lot and there are some big instrumentals with just Frank Steve and Dweezil playing off against each other each being as fun as the last, the songs that had me laughing the most were TRUCK DRIVER DIVORCE, THE CLOSER YOU ARE, STEVIE'S SPANKING and BE IN MY VIDEO there are others but i just really enjoyed them ones, SHARLEENA is also a really fun song. Theres not really than many bad points on here except maybe the instrumentals could be slightly shorter, even though i also enjoyed them as well, the musicmanship as usuall is fantastic and it has a great 70's/80's production as well which is cool, al in all a great addition to any Zappa collection;

The Closer You Are - 9/10 In France - 9/10 Ya Hozna - 8/10 Sharleena - 9/10 Sinister Footwear II - 8/10 Truck Driver Divorce - 10/10 Stevie's Spanking - 10/10 Baby, Take Your Teeth Out - 9/10 Marque-Son's Chicken - 8/10 Planet of My Dreams - 8/10 Be in My Video - 9/10 Them or Us - 7/10 Frogs With Dirty Little Lips - 7/10 Whipping Post - 8/10

MY CONCLUSION? a great addition to any prog collection
