4 stars Another good concept'ish album from England.

The lyrics on the opening track Two Lighthousekeepers gives immediate associations to Van Der Graaf Generator's excellent opus A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers from the Pawn Hearts album. I am not sure if Colin Masson knows this song though. Anyway, I just wanted to be the first one mention this similarity.

The music on this, Colin's second album, is lush and haunting symphonic prog with a lot of references to Irish/Celtic folk music. Colin is also helped out by his wife Cathy on this album. Her excellent vocals is very much enhancing this album. So is Colin's clean electric guitars too. All lovers of Camel will fall over themselves in joy over this album and this is the main reference, music wise.

The quality is great throughout. There are some really excellent songs here. Two Lighthousekeepers has already been mentioned. The haunting The Ends of the Earth with Cathy on the vocals is just brilliant. The title track too is excellent. There are some songs here which fails to enthuse me. But the overall quality is great.

In short, Colin Masson has tried the almost impossible and pulled it off. Can we get more of the same, please ?
