4 stars I was on a Devil Doll forum and the name of this band came about and I was intrigued. I picked up this CD at my local record store and it is none the less breathtaking. It starts up with a 13 minute overture that is heavily classically influenced. This CD is about mood rather than rocking out. The mood that is created is very unique and sometimes unsettling. The vocals are powerful and very effective. The orchestra arrangements and production are huge sounding. If you are looking for a metal CD you may be disappointed with this release. This is NOT metal. Yes there are distorted guitars at time to time, but this is not the traditional metal CD. The guitars are used to back up the orchestra. This CD is very orchestra and vocally driven. Think of it as an opera with some progressive metal influences. This album is reccomended to people who want to take a risk and explore different musical boundaries. This CD will appeal to fans of Devil Doll and any other gothic/progressive/classical bands.
