1791 Overture
1 stars Magic Pie is probably closer to prog metal than symphonic prog in practice. This release has quite a bit of Dream Theater worship in it, with some more traditionally Scandinavian prog mixed in. Overall, I just don't think it's good - the soaring choruses are bland and unconvincing, the instrumental sections don't go anywhere. There are also some boring Pink Floyd imitations (What If) that I could do without. Listen to Trick of the Mind if you want to sample the ins and outs of the albums...utterly confusing and almost comical at points. But hey, King of the Hill, that was a good show.
