4 stars While this is the most Pink Floydian of Eloy's work that I have heard, it is not a rip-off of the Floyd, and stands well on it's own merits. "Astral Entrance"- obvious comparison to SHine On You Crazy Diamond. 3 stars. "Master of Sensation"- my favorite track on SILENT CRIES AND MIGHTY ECHOES. Nice, fast groove and one of the best tracks on any Eloy album. 5 stars. Next up is the near 15 minutes "Apocalypse"- This track reminds me most of any on this album of their earlier OCEAN album. 3 stars. "Pilot to Paradise"- also an OCEAN type track. 3 1/2 stars. "De Labore Solis"- a mellow prog track that doesn't really get my interest. 2 stars. Finally there is "Mighty Echoes". (I don't have the bonus track version of this). Could have been taken straight off of ANIMALS by Floyd. 3 1/2 stars. This is not my favorite Eloy, that honor goes to OCEAN. But it is good album form a great band and is certainly in their top 5 albums. I guess this would average out to about a 3 1/2, so I will bump it to 4.
