![]() The atmosphere that Tangerine Dream is able to create on Phaedra is amazing: cold, snowy, alienated, lonely, enigmatic. The synthesized choir sounds caried by the rough wind, bleak pulsing, and sounds of possibly arctic birds echoing through the soundscape on this album. Though the tracks all have a enigmatic feel coated with spatial loneliness, the sound is very full. The mellotron is very prominent here among the other electronics, so fans of symphonic progressive rock should find much to enjoy here. There are individual tracks on this album, but the similarity in feel on the tracks make everything seem like a big suite. If you're looking for a great starter-point for becoming a Tangerine Dream fan, this is most likely the best choice. Highly recommended.
