3 stars Peter Gabriel is legend in every aspect, and I love a lot of things he has done, this one does not really impress me like some of his other records. For the most part this sounds to 80's and not enough Prog, and too much boring pop, I like a lot of pop, but not this. The best songs off here are withouta doubt The Rhythm Of The Heat. This song is one of the best solo tracks he has ever done. I love the tribal feel to this track, and when the percussion really gets going... that is a great moment. I just wish there was more great momentes like this, the only other song that I really like is The Family And The Fishing Net, which is certaintly the wierdest song off this album, and one of the ones that is not very radio friendly but I could care less about that really. It has some nice Ethiopean pipes, and a almost dark feeling overall. The rest of the songs range from one my least favorites, Shock The Monkey, which just sounds like radio friendly pop to me, and San Jacinto which is rather boring, but probably my next favorite song.

A okay album, with a couple of really good tracks, but he has done better.
