The Truth
3 stars Not a bad little record, just some minor sound quality problems that were abolished on their later releases, and this one contains a sort of raw power that those don't have.

Bullets In Madison is a cool project worth pretty much any listeners time (plus they release their albums for free!) and although this isn't where the ideal starting point is for then, it's certainly not a bad album.

Yes, there are some minor fuzz problems but the tracks themselves are well performed and powerful just like the band's later releases. They are Class A post-rock but never sound too much like another post-rock band (which some of them have trouble with) and all of their work on this album is incredibly original and thoughtful. As a whole, the album sounds like a great post rock record in need of some production but then again, some like the lo-fi sound.

It's amazing that so many of the free albums never cease to blow me away.
