3 stars A dip in quality.

Roy Wood having decided that, one album was enough for some wierd reason, left the band. This left Jeff Lynne in charge, and he probably was a bit overwhelmed by this, and it shows on this album. None of the tracks are really that great, and while they generally are longer, and Roll over Beethoven is a very fun song, it is also the best, which says something about the more "serious" songs on here. They are all to long, and Jeff Lynne still has not found his voice in my opinion, and he gets on my nerves on some of the tracks, espacially opener In Old England Town, and Kuiama.

There is much better to come from this band musically, and while there are some moments here, it still is not very strong. Barely a three.
