2 stars Asia's Omega is OK. Very commercial, and AOR sounding, but I don't know if I can call it bad necessarily. This is probably the most coherent album I have heard from them, they're ideas seem together, their playing sounds together. My dad's always been a big fan of Asia, and has taken me to many of their concerts, which were pretty cool. They all still sound great after all the years, but I think their debut album is my favorite by far.

1. Finger On The Trigger: 6/10, This is a great song, is rocks out, and feels very 80's, everyone sounds very good on here, a pretty good AOR sounding rock song.

2. Through My Veins: 7/10, This song is great, I love the keyboard work, and the way they will carry the song to different sections, but still keeping the beat of the song, I love the ending.

3. Holy War: 6/10 well it's not a slayer song, still Asia, but once again decently good, and competent song, that takes me back to their first album, with great drumming from Mr. Palmer.

4. Ever Yours: 4/10, the second half of this album isn't so good though starting with this song, which to me is a boring love song, don't get me wrong, I enjoy love songs, but this is really bland.

5. Listen Children: 5/10, you might like the piano/drum/bass interplay for a bit, but it gets kind of dull. a pretty good guitar solo from Steve Howe in the middle. Bland.

6. End Of The World: 4/10, The intro makes you think your listening to their debut, and than it almost abruptly turns into Ever Yours again, I am not kidding, listen to the verses. I am not sure if this was intentional, but I am not impressed. Really just more AOR/pop-rock.

7. Light The Way: 8/10, Surprisingly terrific. This is my favorite song on this album. Everything here is great. Very upbeat, and really rocks out great for me, with positive lyrics. One of their best in a while.

8. Emily: 4/10, this song is just horrible, the lyrics are very cheesy. Geoff Downs Keyboards are alright though, and you can actually hear John Wetton playing some bass on this one though... the best part of this song is the middle section, but the rest is just bad, it was a bonus track however.

9. I'm Still The Same: 7/10 another surprise to me not unlike "Light The Way", really nice pop/rock song that doesn't pretend to be anything else, and contains some very nice melodies, with pleasant lyrics, and vocals. Almost reminds me of Electric Light Orchestra, and Christmas.

10. There Was A Time: 5/10 A decent enough song, with a more acoustic, almost folk sound. It picks up about halfway though. The lyrics still just sound cheesy to me, but there's more playing on this song, but it doesn't do much for me.

11. Drop a Stone: 5/10 a bonus song only released with Japanese releases of the album. Has a slightly different tone to it, almost reminds me of classic rock bands like "The Eagles" A decent enough song, with a pretty cool intro. Some really good guitar playing. Nothing to write home about though..

12. I Believe: 4/10 at this point of the album, I get really worn out. Another decent AOR song, but it really doesn't separate itself from the other tracks on the album. Not a fan really.

13. Don't Wanna Loose You Now: 6/10 A Beatles-esque song, that is alright, closing the album pleasantly.

One of my problems with Asia, is that they never seem to develope their sound, this album, xxx, and gravitas, all sounds the same to me, and they all sound like how they sounded in the 80's. This album was a little bit hard to rate because, there are a few songs I really liked, but I found the rest of the album bland, and uninteresting. If the album ended at I'm Still The Same, then I might have been able to rate it 3. Very average, but not awful, with a few good ones.
