4 stars Yes, this is the first, and as yet only solo album released by Andy West, the great spectacular bassist mostly known for his work with The Dixie Dregs. West insists that this is not technically a solo album. But his name is on the cover, and he wrote all the songs, although his sidemen wrote their own parts.

Mike Keneally, who assisted in the production and mixing, is the only artist other than West to appear on each sone, and his influence shows in the production and execution of the music.

The songs are heavy, very heavy, with West laying down some deceptively complex basslines and rhythms for the rest of the band to play over. And the results, with sidemen such as T Lavitz and Rod Morgenstein from the Dregs, Kit Watkins from Happy The Man, Mike Portnoy, formerly from some big named prog-metal band, among others, is very close to a heavy prog masterpiece.
