5 stars This is my favourite Queen album. This is subjective, and I do not want to give any reasons, simply because, there are no reasons, I just like it and I can not imagine how this album could be better. But I have serious reasons, why I do think this album is really progressive, and thus I suggest it to every visitor of this site. First, the production is great. The sound feels really fresh still today. Then, the musicians are excellent. Specially the VOCALS, and Brian May's guitar work are fantastic. The songs are musically great, and above all everything is unique. I have never heard an album similar to this one. Unfortunately this is what disappeared from the albums following Night at The Opera. They were still recognizable, but they lost their unique "Opera rock" sound. Queen became a more standard rock band later. (Well, Innuendo is an exception, but this is another story...) But this album is, in my opinion, the peek of Queen's "opera era". The album is very cohesive but still every song is different. And this type of mixture of rock, opera and many more things is absolutely unique. Try it, at least once!
