4 stars Glass Hammer's second album, while having some obvious weaknesses, is a very good source of inspiration and skilled musicianship. Of all albums/songs inspired by C.S.Lewis (which I've heard, at least), I think this one succeeds best in bringing the wonderful writing style of the master into a soundscape that is full of rich melodies and harmonies. Time Marches On is probably my favourite Glass Hammer song, one of those that always gets you glad when you listen it. Other highlights include wonderfully constructed Illusion, a rocker That Hideous Strength, and the beautiful Perelandra and Heaven. There are also some weaker ones, like a bit boring ballad The Way To Her Heart. However, I don't really see how this one wouldn't deserve an overall rating way above 3.
