5 stars I am also an "experienced" progressive listener, and have heard many albums from lesser known bands, and have experimented with various progressive styles. Based on that experience, I can say that this recording fits very nicely into the genre without sounding clicheed. It is overall a wonderful record, with superb songwriting, production and execution. It is also a rare one where the melodies are very catchy and you end up humming them without realizing it. There are 3-well crafted epic pieces and one ballad. The two longer epics are a textbook example of what symphonic progressive composition is all about. The shorter epic (12 minutes) is a tribute to the Beatles at their glorious best, from the Abbey road album. The writing is so tight that it seems that if you take one chord out, the thing will fall apart. The ballad simple but it is just so lulling and melodic, that it just takes you away to another place in space/time. I agree with one of the reviewers who said it is one the best prog rock albums of all time.
