5 stars The first work released in 1970 "Magma". Strange vocal is jazz-rock of the feature. In a thorough, avant-garde music, it is extremely original. The contemporary music seems to influence it. This is already a jazz-rock opera. There is strong strangeness when listening for the first time. Pharaoh Sanders influences it in my conception. The performance at this time is collected to "Concert 1971 Bruxelles-Theatre 140" of a live board.

Anyway, MAGMA is strange. A peculiar melody is strange rather than humorous. Like Erik Satie. Doubtfulness of eerie melody. And, the performance gradually becomes an enchantment, and will approach frenzy before long by repeat obstinate. The chorus where it springs drives recklessly. It is redoubtable music. However, the album is overall bright as. It is eerie. You are sure to come also to understand MAGMA if you listens to the music many times.

MAGMA is one of the most progressive artist in our time.
