RELIQUARYNCE

This album is defined on Senmuth's website as "Ethnic Ambient". For albums of this kind I'm used to search about the track titles as in general they can be a key to understand what the artist is trying to transmit with his music.

Unfortunately I've been able to find only one reference. It's "Nexanium", a word contained in a 15th Century "manual" about Christian confession and penitence written by a Spanish monk which probably doesn't have anything to do with the album itself.

Relics are one of the usual arguments of Senmuth, who is one of those who believe that aliens came to visit the ancient civilizations and messages and missing knowledge are hidden inside ancient ruins and books, but searching the web using the other track titles didn't lead to anything.

So only the music remains:

All the tracks in this album are very similar one to each other. Indo percussion and his distorted guitar flow seamlessly over minor chords throughout the whole album. There is separation between the tracks, but they could be grouped all together as the general mood doesn't change. It's a well structured album in which the more high-volumed and powerful moments don't come suddenly as sometimes happens with Senmuth. All the transitions are consistent and even with all the usual darkness and the strong orchestral accents and the percussion I find it quite relaxing. "Namra" is my favorite track, probably beacuse it's the most "ambient".

A quite good album in the very huge discography of Valery AV.
