Wonderwoman
5 stars This is not only a very beautiful progressive rock album, it's also a very funny album. It contains a symphonic rock epic of more than 60 minutes, but it's not a farfetched complicated story of deep inner conflicts which are solved by cosmic intervention or the power of ancient Gods. No, this is a story about a nice little guy, named Duplo, with green hair and only one eye. This charming little fairy tale is the way of LIFE LINE PROJECT to show both the silliness of communism and fashion dictated capitalism. First Duplo lives in a land where everyone is the same and where life is regulated by a huge computer. Then he arrives by accident in another country where everyone seems to be different, but where they are actually also all the same, because they all want to follow the latest fashion. In the end Duplo leaves with his new girlfriend Unica to find a place where he can really be himself.

Of course the music has also humoristic parts, like "Love Is In His Eye", a funny song in which Duplo's love for Unica is described. The larger part of the album however is filled with beautiful and very solid melodic symphonic rock. Not only lots of beautiful synthesizer sounds and great fluently played guitar leads are omnipresent. There is a group of woodwind instruments, that create a dreamy and romantic folk-like atmosphere. All lead vocals are done by Marion Brinkman-Stroetinga, who has a simple but at the same time sensitive and disarming way of singing, that is so agreeable to listen to.

One of my favourite songs on the album is the unplugged "Worries", apparently written for someone who wanted to commit suicide. A moving song, convincingly sung by Marion and so beautifully played, with again a large part for the flute, oboe and bassoon.

This is an album for those who love their symphonic rock melodic, full of warm harmonies and mixed with some elements of folk music. Highly recommended !
