2 stars This review is intended most for the ones who like Pink Floyd and still own their albums. If you are an alien an don't know the band or WYWH I recommend you to buy the standard version of the album.

Back to the box: Are you a completist? Or a Floyd maniac? If your answer is yes for one of these questions you probably felt a lot of excitement when you heard about the release of the 3 boxes. It's almost certain that you have felt yourself doomed when you had the chance to look at their contents. Nothing new, absolutely! Only your inner need of owning anything Floyd-related could possibly move you to buy any of these boxes (or a curious atraction for the memorabilia). Well, that's what moved me to buy the DSOTM and, after some hesitation, the WYWH boxes.

I wish they have released "Echoes on the garden" or the "Cruel but fair" version professionaly remastered. It would be far more valuable for the Floyd fan, casual or not. Instead they release ANOTHER remaster of the studio WYWH, the INCOMPLETE Wembley 1974 with the WYWH three tracks played there plus Raving... and You gotta be crazy (no DSOTM!) and three alternate/not released cuts from the studio album. Disapointment is a soft word for my feelings.

The video releases couldn't be worst. If some low-budget company could release the French TV appearances of 1968 in DVD format (at least here in Brazil) why they could not give us some professionaly-filmed excerpt from the 1975 tour (because the 1974 concerts were a drag)? I doubt any film of this era doesn't exist.

All in all it was a waste of money since the books were less interesting than the DSOTM ones. I feel sorry for myself and the poor disinformed fellows that have bought this box.

Unless you really want the memorabilia I don't recommend this box. The only reason I do not rate it with one star it's that it is only slightly less bad than The Wall's. The latter is really an offense to the Pink Floyd fans.

Thank you dear Ksna and my web friends we have at our disposal a lot of material worth our time and atention. Although the WYWH "tour" were a very weak one I recommend the ROIOs mentioned above for their sound and performance quality. We all know (or should know) that great things were to come with the Animals tour, this being the real WYWH tour if you know what I mean. That was a wonderful tour with exciting live material. Unfortunatelly it was the last great Floyd tour. I wish the Oakland and Montreal concerts could be properly released!

Still waiting for the Meddle and Animals boxes and The Wall full-professional video release (since I believe they won't release anything pre-Meddle that isn't Barret-related)!
