5 stars The original Journey to the centre of the earth is undoubtely one of the best progressive albums of all time. But I remember that Wakeman admitted that in those agitated years he didn't had the time and money to record with a full symphonic orchestra, so he opted to record the album live, sacrificing sound quality. After that, the original score was lost and everybody thought never will be a studio version.

After almost 40 years finally we have this studio version. As one friend says, listening to it make us cry, remembering those glorious years of our adolescence when we heard our LP of The Journey hundreds of times.

Unfortunately the original narrator David Hemmings died in 2003, and singer Gary Pickford-Hopkins is missing but the music is still superb. By far, this is the best recording of 2012, a generous year when we enjoyed the return of Anglagard, a new Thick a Brick and another recreation of Genesis classics by Steve Hackett.

Long life to Prog!
