5 stars A Classic Case is not a proper Jethero Tull album. That said, It IS a Jethro Tull album. This is the music of Jethero Tull arranged for orchestra by David Palmer with guest appearances by Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, and others from Tull.

One reviewer says he doesn't like classical music AT ALL, so he hates this album. Well, DUH! It tells you that there will be a classical rendition on the album on the front! Personally, I pretty much love the entire series of symphonic recordings David did with Rock groups (the once exception is the Orchestral Queen - I feel he used too many vocals). All are at the very least interesting.

On this album we get many of the all time Tull hits done well, as the music lends itself to symphonic treatments - especially Palmer's own original Elegy which sounds better than the Tull version in my opinion. It's interesting to me that they included an Anderson solo piece (Fly By Night) with the others - not that I mind, it just seems a quirky choice.

All in all, if you like Tull and you like classical music, this is an album for you. If you don't like either of them...why are you reading this review?
