ALIVE ON PLANET EARTH

This is a nice live album by a nice band. They chose nice songs from their backcatalogue and played them nicely, indeed. The instrumentation is nice, the singing is nice, the atmosphere and mix are nice, the audience is nice (although a little small in places from the sound of it... they don't deserve that!)... Everything is in its right place, you would say. And this is, also, where it gets a bit boring. No adventures, no surprises, no real live feeling to any of the songs. The Flower Kings are such a great live band - but this album does not, on the whole, manage to capture this.
