LA BOITE À MUSIQUE

This is a taxing listen for me as I'd consider it a lengthy disc with only acoustic guitar arrangements with no vocals. With the exception of the Infini release in 2004 Boffo really seems to be mellowing out and his French slant on prog and jazzfusion have been replaced with sappy weakness. Of course his sappy weak sound is better than I can muster on my best day and what we find here is the prog guitar god album you turn on when your grandparents come over. Nothing even close to pyrotechnics happens here and while this album has a purpose and is tastefully done, I'd rather listen to John Renbourn in the end.
