4 stars If you find some of the earlier One little indian material too over produced and hard to listen to, this might be the perfect antidote. It includes recorded for radio perfomances of early material from the Loveblows and Lovecries.

The acoustic version of lovecry is a personal fave. The JBK band play on a few songs [recorded live for radio 1]

Yes , it is for No Man completists, but, if like me , you always found the stuff recorded for the "major label" to be too much , trying to give the public what the label "thought" they wanted - ie, rather commercial and overproduced, this is a great alternative. Super songs unhindered by excessive production.

The version of watching over me appeared virtually unchanged on the excellent Tim Bowness/Samuel Smiles World of bright futures album, and rates as the best track on the album [for me]

If you like No Man, it is well worth having .

2 stars 'Radio Sessions' provides a glimpse of NO-MAN as they might have sounded live: stripped back, without STEVEN WILSON's production expertise. Whether this is a good thing or not is moot. I prefer the album versions of virtually every song over these versions, but others might appreciate seeing the bones rather than the skin.

It's unashamedly a collector's item, available only by mail-order. That said, it provides an interesting insight for the NO-MAN fan of how these songs have evolved, as there are multiple versions of more than one track here, each to be balanced against the studio version.

Get this only after you've heard the originals.
